چکیده
Objective: To compare the mean hemoglobin levels and frequency of polycythemia in full term neonates after early delayed cord clamping. Study Design: Randomized Controlled Trial. Setting: KRL General Hospital Islamabad (Labor Room/ Neonatology). Periods: December 2017 to June 2018. Material & Methods: 190 were selected divided into 2 equal groups randomly: Early clamping group delivery late group. Two hours venous blood samples taken for hematocrit levels. Mean standard deviation calculated gestational age, birth weight, hematocrit. Frequency proportions gender polycythemia. Results: age mothers was 39.27 ± 1.50 weeks. Of neonates, 91 (47.9%) males, 99 (52.1%) females. weight 3.64 0.72 kg while Hb HCT 16.07 2.30 g/dl 63.26 5.32% respectively. Keeping cut off value 13.5 label anemia or no, 35 (18.4%) anemic this study. The (HCT >65%) present 72 (37.9%) neonates. There no difference between terms gender, anemia, (p values 0.663, 0.852, 0.700 0.491 respectively). distribution different among 0.007). level A 15.52 1.90 B it 16.62 2.53 0.001). statistically not some (gestational <40 weeks, <4 kg) are significantly male category >4 kg. Rest stratification showed significant difference. Conclusion: results increased with as compared

The Correlation between Type of Delivery and Umbilical Cord Blood Hemoglobin and Hematocrit in Full- Term Neonates
Introduction: Neonates with lower hemoglobin and Hematocrit are more at risk of iron deficiency anemia. This rate is influenced by several factors. Children's health can be improved by identifying these factors and taking appropriate actions. This study determined the relationship between type of delivery and umbilical cord blood hemoglobin and Hematocrit. Methods: This descriptive correlation...

Sixty term infants delivered vaginally were assigned randomly to one of the two management groups; early cord clamping (ECC) or delayed cord clamping (DCC). Six months after delivery, the children in both groups were called back for follow-up. Blood samples were obtained for measuring haemoglobin (Hb), haematocrit (Hct), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH), serum i...

Objective of the study was to compare the effect of umbilical cord milking (UCM) and delayed cord clamping (DCC) on hematological parameters (serum ferritin & hemoglobin) at 6 weeks of life in term neonates. It was a Randomized Controlled Trail conducted at a teaching hospital in North India from August 2012 to August 2013. Babies born at > 36 weeks of gestation were randomized in two groups, U...
